Leonardo Urbinati mi aveva concesso, sulle prime con un po’ di riluttanza, il permesso di pubblicare la mia versione cantata e suonata della sua poesia “Le Strìe” Negli anni a venire mi ero trovato a confrontarmi con lui sulla provenienza del nostro dialetto, l’avevo ascoltato parlare nel suo cittadino, quello più fine…ed ero rimasto affascinato dal suo libro “Zöc de parole”. Sempre con il suo permesso mi ero messo a musicare alcune delle sue bellissime poesie e avevo trovato la cosa anche molto divertente visto che anche lui aveva una verve ironica e scanzonata oltre che profonda e appassionata…purtroppo prima della fine del mio lavoro Leonardo ci ha lasciati ma io ho continuato a comporre e col permesso della sua famiglia ho ultimato e pubblicato questo album, tributo alla sua opera, intitolandolo con lo pseudonimo che egli amava usare come autore “Merlin Magù”

Leonardo Urbinati had granted me, at first with a little reluctance, the permission to publish my sung and played version of his poem “Le Strìe”. In the years to come I had found myself confronting him about the origin of our dialect, I had heard him speak in his citizen, the finest one … and I was fascinated by his book “Zöc de parole”. Always with his permission, I started to set some of his beautiful poems to music and I also found it very funny since he too had an ironic and light-hearted verve as well as deep and passionate … unfortunately, before the end of my work Leonardo left us but I continued to compose and with the permission of his family I completed and published this album, a tribute to his work, titling it with the pseudonym that he loved to use as an author “Merlin Magù”.
